De Andla's worden vanaf het begin van de 14de eeuw vermeld.\" \r\n\"Rond 1400 bezaten twee takken van de Andla's goederen en rechten in de rechtsomgang van Ried en Boer: de Andela's van Ried en van Menaldum.\"\r\n\"In Ried lagen twee states Andla: Oud en Nieuw Andela. Bij de eerste stond een stins: Alda Andela, deer een stins steet, ende Nya Andela. In 1408 voerde Hessel Andela het recht van Nieuw Andla, in 1406 dat van Heslinga in het oosterend van Ried. Hijzelf of zijn vrouw stamde af van de familie Tamminga, waardoor hij ook goederen en rechten op Tamterp onder Peins had. In 1424 en 1430 voerde voor Oud en Nieuw Andla Peter Camstra het recht; de laatste state was met zekerheid ook zijn eigendom: hij had hem verpand.\"",
