In 1483 kwam Hessel Pybynga tot een vergelijk met de erfgenamen van de Franeker hoofdeling Douwa Zyaerda. Douwe en zijn mannen hadden in de vetes misdaden begaan, ze waren mede schuldig oen sillige Doeden - myn moeders - daed, en ook was er schade aan ous stins en gued. Op anderen die bij de vete betrokken waren, handhaafde Hessel echter zijn aanspraken. Vanwege de naamsgelijkheid ligt de veronderstelling voor de hand dat Hessel woonde op Pibema. Blijkbaar veronderstelde ook Schotanus dit verband, want in 1664 gaf hij Pibema als adellijke state op zijn kaart aan. Pibema werd in 1640 gepacht door Jan Jans Siersma. In 1699 kocht Petrus Hilarides het; sindsdien bleef het in het bezit van die familie. In 1832 wordt aan de zuidkant van het erf nog een deel van de gracht aangegeven.\"",
