Naast de state lag in 1718 nog een wier.\"\r\n\"Aan het begin van de 17de eeuw was Unia eigendom van leden van de familie Van Albada van Poppingawier.\"\r\n\"Naar Pibo's schoonzoon Bertrant de Gachet werd de buitenplaats die bij de boerderij werd gebouwd op de Schotanus-kaart van 1718 Gachet genoemd. In 1766 kocht Pieter van Jongestal, oud-koopman en landraad op Ambon, de buitenplaats Gachet en het ernaast gelegen Unia. Hij bewoonde het huis, dat hij in zijn testament in 1770 Vreederust noemde.\"\r\n\"De state Unia stond waarschijnlijk op de plaats waar in de 13de eeuw het Benedictinessenklooster Franjum had gestaan. Dit klooster werd 1270 opgeheven. De abdij Lidlum werd eigenares van het terrein. Rond 1420 stond er nog een kapel die toen door de Schieringers onder leiding van de Siaerdema's van Franeker werd verbrand. In 1575 waren de fundamenten van de kapel nog te zien. Midden op de terp, die in zijn geheel bij Unia behoorde, werd in 1718 een wier afgebeeld. Of hier een stins stond, of dat hier resten van de kapel lagen, is onzeker. In 1832 liep dwars over de terp de oprijlaan, in het kadaster als laan voor vermaak omschreven. De wier was toen verdwenen. De buitenplaats Gachet of Vreederust werd in 1869 getekend door A. Martin, getekend vanaf de oprijlaan.\"",
